Minutes of Public Hearing

In Compliance with the Truth in Taxation Act at the Village Hall, 175 Water Street December 6, 2021 6:45p.m.

 

Note: Due to the COVID-19 public health emergency, this meeting will be held at the Village Hall and remotely by conference call. The public can join the call and at the appropriate time make comment. Please keep your phones on MUTE when not actively participating.

Open the Public Hearing: Village President Mary Kay Wlezen opened the Public Hearing to order at 6:45 p.m.

Present: Village President Mary Kay Wlezen, Village Clerk Christine Jones, Deputy Clerk MarilynDiede,VillageEngineerJohnWhitehouse,VillageAttorneyBernieWeiler,Village Treasurer Jackie Koerwitz and Natalie Meisner.

Guests: Jeff Good arrived at 6:50 p.m.

 

The purpose of this Public Hearing is for the following agenda.

 

  1. Open the Public Hearing.
  2. Roll Call.
  3. Review Tax Levy Ordinance
  4. Ask for Public Comments.
  5. Close the Public Hearing.

 

Village Attorney Bernie Weiler stated the current Tax Levy amount being proposed is $138,000 for the 2021-2022. Last year the Village received $113,160.80 from the County. The Truth in Taxation notice is a 22 % increase over last year. This number is put into capture all growth of the Village. Attorney Weller said because it is more than a 5% increase the Village has to publish for the Truth in Taxation Hearing. The appropriate notice was published in the Courier News and has been posted in accordance with law.

There were no Public Comments.

 

Close the Public Hearing: Trustee Jean Micklevitz made a motion to close the Public Hearing and Trustee Deb Twenhafel seconded the motion. Ayes: Trustees: Deb Twenhafel, Jean Micklevitz, Jim Daffron, Amanda Stephens and Ryan Wasson. Five ayes, one absent, motion carried.
