Public Safety/Health and Welfare Committee Meeting
Meeting Location – Village Hall – 175 Water St.
July 23, 2019 p.m. 5:00 p.m.

 

Present:  Village President Bob Walsh, Village Clerk Kimberly Tatu.
Open the Meeting: Committee Chairperson John Totemeier opened the meeting at 5:01 p.m.
Roll Call:  Trustees:  John Totemeier, Mary Kay Wlezen were present.
Absent:  Trustee Deb Twenhafel.

 

The Purpose of this Committee meeting is for the following agenda:

 

  1. Open the Meeting.
  2. Roll Call.
  3. Approval of the May 21, 2019 Public Safety/Health and Welfare Committee meeting minutes.
  4. Discussion on Chapter 13, Article 6, Section 13.6010, Operation of (3) or (4) Wheel Recreational Motorbikes on any Street, Highway, Sidewalk or Alley in the Village’s Municipal Code.
  5. Guests (3 minutes for those not on the agenda)
  6. Adjourn the meeting.

 

Approval of Minutes:   Trustee Mary Kay Wlezen made a motion to approve the May 21, 2019 Public Safety/Health and Welfare Committee meeting minutes and Chairperson John Totemeier seconded the motion.  Ayes:  Trustees:  Mary Kay Wlezen and John Totemeier.  Two ayes, one absent motion carried.

 

Discussion Chapter 13, Article 6, Section 13.610, Operation of (3) or (4) Wheel Recreational Motorbikes on any Street, Highway, Sidewalk or Alley in the Village’s Municipal Code.  Chairperson John Totemeier wanted to know the Committee’s thoughts on off road vehicles and golf carts.  He reported he has no problem with people driving around in them as long as they follow the State Statue.  President Walsh gave his thoughts.

Trustee Mary Kay Wlezen drafted an Ordinance Amending Chapter 13, Article 6, Section 13.610, Operation of (3) or (4) Wheel Recreational Motorbikes on any Street, Highway, Sidewalk or Alley in the Village’s Municipal Code.  She would like the Board to review it for future approval.

Clerk Kim Tatu made copies of the Draft Ordinance and passed it out to the Committee.

President Walsh said the Draft Ordinance will be on the next agenda for the Board to discuss. It will not be an action item that night. Brief discussion followed.

Adjournment: Trustee Mary Kay Wlezen made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by John Totemeier.  Motion carried by voice vote.  The meeting adjourned at 5:18 p.m.
