                                                                                          VILLAGE BOARD PUBLIC HEARING

Meeting Location -Village Hall, 175 Water Street

                                             June 16, 2014 6:55 p.m.


Present: Village President Bob Walsh, Village Clerk Jeaneen, Village Treasurer Sally Eickhorst, Deputy Clerk Marilyn Diede, Village Engineer John Whitehouse, Village Attorney Nancy Harbottle and Mark Wilkison.

Open the Public Hearing: Village President Bob Walsh opened the Public Hearing at 6:55 p.m.


Roll Call: Trustees: Mary Kay Wlezen, John Totemeier, Nancy Melin, Duane Wilkison, Betty Reiser and Jim Daffron were present.


Guests: Jeannie Mayer (Courier News), Matt Klein, Alex Moore and Mary Moore.


Purpose of this Public Hearing: Village President Bob Walsh stated that the purpose of this Public Hearing is to consider exchange and conveyance of real estate owned by the Village of Burlington for real estate owned by the Kenyon Brothers Company, an Illinois Corporation.


Village Engineer John Whitehouse stated that this similar in reason for the prior Public Hearing on the Burlingotn Development Group Properties. It again has to do with the change in the alignment of the proposed Plank Road due to the right of way shifting north because of the house that was purchased and torn down by Kane County Department of Transportation. This is the exchange of approximately 0.06 acres of Kenyon Brothers property they will be conveying to the Village and a similar area of property that the Village will be conveying back to the Kenyon Brothers for the realignment of Plank Road.


Mr. Whitehouse stated in his opinion that the real estate exchange is property of similar value. It is in accordance with discussions with the Kenyon Brothers Company and it is as provided for in the Kane County Intergovernmental Agreement for Plank Road Realignment.


There was no comment from the Village Attorney.


There were no Public comments.


There were no comments from the Village Board.


Trustee Nancy Melin made a motion to close the Public Hearing and Trustee Mary Kay Wlezen seconded the motion.

All ayes, no nays, motion carried on voice vote. The Public Hearing closed at 6:58 p.m.
